Getting Started

Connect your OpenWRT router to WRTune and start managing your network.

This guide walks you through connecting WRTune to your OpenWRT router for the first time.

Prerequisites 🔗

  • An OpenWRT router running 24.10.x or newer
  • The router’s IP address on your local network
  • The root username and password for your router
  • Wi-Fi connection to the router’s local network

First Login 🔗

  1. Download and install WRTune from the App Store or Google Play
  2. Open the app — you’ll see the splash screen, then the login page
  3. Enter your router’s IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.1)
  4. Enter the password for the root account
  5. The username defaults to root — no need to change it
  6. Enable “Save credential” to store your login for future sessions
  7. Tap Login

WRTune will automatically detect whether your router uses HTTP or HTTPS, and handle self-signed certificates.

Demo Mode 🔗

To explore WRTune without a physical router, use demo mode:

  • IP: 1.1.1.1
  • Password: dummy_test

This activates an offline demo with mock data across all features.

Quick Actions 🔗

After login, the dashboard shows Quick Action buttons for common tasks:

  • Wake — Wake-on-LAN for sleeping devices
  • Guest WiFi — Set up a time-limited guest network
  • Reboot — Restart your router remotely

The app uses a bottom tab bar with these sections:
