DNS Filtering (AdGuard Home)
Block ads and trackers network-wide by integrating with AdGuard Home on your router.
The DNS Control feature connects to an AdGuard Home instance running on your router, giving you full access to DNS-level filtering from within WRTune.
Setup 🔗
- Install AdGuard Home on your router
- In WRTune, go to Settings → AdGuard Home
- Enter the AdGuard Home URL (e.g.,
http://192.168.1.1:3000) - Enter your AdGuard Home username and password
- Enable the toggle
Credentials are stored securely in FlutterSecureStorage, scoped per router IP.
Dashboard 🔗
The AdGuard Home dashboard within WRTune shows:
- Total DNS queries processed
- Queries blocked count and percentage
- Safe browsing status
- Parental control status
- Top queried domains
- Top blocked domains
- Top clients by query volume
Filtering Rules 🔗
Manage custom filtering rules:
- Blocklists — Add/remove blocklist URLs
- Custom rules — Add domain-level rules (e.g.,
||example.com^) - Blocked services — Toggle predefined service categories (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
Time-Based Schedules 🔗
Create schedules that apply different filtering rules at different times:
- Define a schedule with start/end times and days of the week
- Assign it to a client device
- During the schedule period, the assigned rules take effect
Schedules are stored locally and applied through the AdGuard Home API.
Query Log 🔗
View the full DNS query log from AdGuard Home:
- Search by domain or client
- Filter by blocked/allowed
- See timestamps and response details
