DNS Filtering (AdGuard Home)

Block ads and trackers network-wide by integrating with AdGuard Home on your router.

The DNS Control feature connects to an AdGuard Home instance running on your router, giving you full access to DNS-level filtering from within WRTune.

Setup 🔗

  1. Install AdGuard Home on your router
  2. In WRTune, go to Settings → AdGuard Home
  3. Enter the AdGuard Home URL (e.g., http://192.168.1.1:3000)
  4. Enter your AdGuard Home username and password
  5. Enable the toggle

Credentials are stored securely in FlutterSecureStorage, scoped per router IP.

Dashboard 🔗

The AdGuard Home dashboard within WRTune shows:

  • Total DNS queries processed
  • Queries blocked count and percentage
  • Safe browsing status
  • Parental control status
  • Top queried domains
  • Top blocked domains
  • Top clients by query volume

Filtering Rules 🔗

Manage custom filtering rules:

  • Blocklists — Add/remove blocklist URLs
  • Custom rules — Add domain-level rules (e.g., ||example.com^)
  • Blocked services — Toggle predefined service categories (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)

Time-Based Schedules 🔗

Create schedules that apply different filtering rules at different times:

  1. Define a schedule with start/end times and days of the week
  2. Assign it to a client device
  3. During the schedule period, the assigned rules take effect

Schedules are stored locally and applied through the AdGuard Home API.
