Frequently Asked Questions

What makes WRTune different from using OpenWRT directly?
WRTune provides a user-friendly interface for tasks that are otherwise complex in OpenWRT. Device management, traffic monitoring, and system health are all accessible without needing to dive into command-line configurations.
Do I need to install extra packages for WRTune to work?
No. WRTune runs out of the box with a vanilla OpenWRT installation. There’s no need to install additional packages — just connect your router and start managing it through the app.
How does WRTune handle blocking devices from the internet?
WRTune requires your permission to create firewall rules. Instead of adding one MAC address at a time, WRTune organizes all rules under a clean, consistent prefix (wrtune_xxx). This keeps your firewall configuration tidy and easy to manage in one place.
Is WRTune available on both Android and iOS?
WRTune supports both Android and iOS. The Android version is currently available in Preview on Google Play Store. For iOS, the app is ready but requires an active Apple Developer Program subscription (1‑year) to be published on the App Store.
How can I help bring WRTune to iOS?
You can support the project through donations. Your contribution will go directly toward covering the annual Apple Developer account fee, making it possible to release WRTune on iOS.
