This Privacy Policy describes how WRTune (“we”, “us”, or “our”) protects your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”). We are committed to transparency and do not collect personal data for tracking purposes.

1. Architecture & Data Security 🔗

1.1. Local Communication Only (OpenWrt/LuCI API) 🔗

The App functions as an interface for your router. It communicates directly with your OpenWrt router using the official ubus protocol over HTTP or HTTPS.

  • Local Execution: All commands are executed locally between your mobile device and your router on your local network.
  • No Intermediaries: We do not use any intermediate cloud servers, relay servers, or “cloud bridges” to route your traffic.
  • No SSH Access: The App communicates strictly via the standard ubus/JSON-RPC API, not via raw SSH commands.

1.2. Credential Storage 🔗

To manage your router, the App requires authentication credentials (IP Address, Username, Password).

  • Secure Local Storage: These credentials are stored securely on your device using the native secure storage mechanisms (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore).
  • No Uploads: Your router credentials are never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third parties.

2. Information Collection & Usage 🔗

2.1. No Personal Data Collection 🔗

We do not knowingly collect, store, or sell any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, physical address, or phone number.

2.2. Diagnostics & Performance (Opt-in Only) 🔗

By default, all diagnostic and analytics features are disabled. We use Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase to help identify technical bugs and improve performance, but these services will only be active if you explicitly enable them in the App settings.

  • Voluntary Contribution: No data is transmitted unless you toggle this feature “ON”.
  • Anonymous Data: Even when enabled, the data collected (e.g., crash logs, device models) is strictly anonymous.
  • Privacy First: This diagnostic data is never linked to your identity or your router’s specific configuration.

3. Platform-Specific Disclosures 🔗

3.1. iOS Users (In-App Purchases) 🔗

The iOS version of the App uses RevenueCat to manage auto-renewable subscriptions (e.g., “WRTune Pro”).

  • Transaction Data: RevenueCat may collect anonymous transaction identifiers to validate your subscription status with the App Store.
  • No Personal Link: This data is processed strictly for billing validation and is not linked to your personal identity.

3.2. Android Users 🔗

The Android version of the App matches the standard feature set and does not contain third-party purchase modules. It does not use RevenueCat or Google Play Billing, and no subscription-related data is collected on this platform.
